Our Center for Community Health has secured a $250,000 grant to expand our innovative ¡Más Fresco! Plus program, which delivers fresh, locally grown produce to families experiencing food insecurity and diet-related chronic conditions.  Since launching the program in 2022, we have partnered with trusted community organizations and healthcare providers to connect families with farm-fresh fruits and vegetables. To date, we have served approximately 3,500 households and distributed more than 52,000 produce boxes across San Diego County, demonstrating meaningful impact on nutrition and health outcomes. With this new funding, we will continue expanding access to nutritious food at a critical time, as many communities face rising food insecurity and reduced federal support. This investment reinforces our commitment to community-driven, “food as medicine” approaches that improve long-term health and well-being. Read more about our ¡Más Fresco! Plus program HERE.
