AboutThe Food Access and Equity Unit is comprised of two teams, Urban Food Equity and Food is Medicine, working to address food access through multiple equity-driven approaches. Urban Food Equity works collaboratively with farmers, community-based organizations, and students to pollinate and sustain food justice and climate resilient solutions that address food inequities in urban spaces. We do this by building technical capacity, education, resource development, and systems change on critical food issues prioritized by communities most affected by disparities. We envision thriving urban food environments where farmers can grow, students can learn, and communities can enjoy good health.Food is Medicine is dedicated to improving health outcomes by developing evidence-based nutrition incentive, produce prescription and medically-tailored meal programs, and research initiatives that improve healthy food access and food security. Through cross-sector partnerships with food system, health system, and community-based organizations, we advance health equity and generate economic impact. We envision a future where food is recognized as a fundamental component of healthcare, ensuring everyone has access to nutritious foods for their health and well-being.Contact UsElle Mari, Director, Urban Food EquityJoe Prickitt, Director, Food is MedicineTrixy Manansala, Senior Program ManagerKaremi Alvarez, Program Manager
