About Us

In collaboration with Latino communities, Promotores (community health workers), Family Health Centers of San Diego and the San Diego Childhood Obesity Initiative, UC San Diego researchers are creating a precision medicine community-based approach to mitigate childhood trauma, build resiliency to toxic stress, and reduce childhood obesity within the Latino community.

The team is developing and implementing a community-designed intervention tailored to different families according to their unique needs. The network and system of learning and improvement will strengthen communications, needs assessment, and researcher-community relationships to better design and deliver the right preventive and treatment services at the right time.
